A couple of years ago I was lying in a bed doing a scene in a film when my understudy 'accidentally' dropped a very heavy mannequin arm on my face from about eight feet up.
It produced lots of blood, a black eye and several stitches (after an amusing trip to the emergency room with lots of 'it's okay, you can tell us if you're in an abusive relationship, we can help' help). And the opportunity for several photo shoots.

Thu, November 4, 2004 - 10:59 AMfunny story...but it's okay, you can tell us if you're in an abusive relationship....lol....no one ever belive's the truth. i was in a car accident and had a huge bump/buise on my forehead. everyone kept looking at me and my boyfriend with a "rrrriiiiiggghhht" attitude when i told them how i got it. -

Sat, March 19, 2005 - 6:26 PMSo I got into this hot scene with some face slapping and somehow, it resulted in a nasty black eye and lip and basically one whole side of my face was bruised.
i LOVED it. I did pretty good with the makeup to hide it at work, but the people who did notice made comments like..."I know what getting slapped in the face looks like and it does NOT look like that!" I used the classic line "I fell down the stairs" LMAO.
If they only knew. I sure wish I had photos. I took one for a friend that does art based off bruises and such and sent it to her and promptly erased the file. I guess I was scared of someone finding out that I actually HAD been hit in the face and trying to explain that I adored the black eye and bruising.
*shrug* oh well....
